Our View: Surprise! Politics, not pot, top problem with cannabis industry
As investigations go, the newly released audit of the Cannabis Control Commission by Diana DiZoglio’s office didn’t offer any bombshells.
We know the commission is in shambles and has been for some time. The most useful part of the state auditor’s report, released Tuesday, is that it details just how things have gone awry at the famously opaque agency. And from that, perhaps lawmakers (who have their own interests and biases in play) and the citizenry can draw a road map to recovery for the commission that oversees an $8- billion-a-year industry.
