BOSTON — Political leaders are reacting to the murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk with a mix of condemnation and outrage, and adding to bipartisan calls for an end to political violence in the country.

Kirk, founder of the conservative youth activist organization Turning Point USA and a close ally of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at an event at a college campus in Utah. The state’s governor called the shooting a “political assassination.”
