To defy cancer, Haverhill families join the Jimmy Fund Walk

HAVERHILL — One foot after another, thousands marched through the streets of Boston on Sunday — each step to defy cancer. Among the shuffle of sneakers, there were 33 walkers from Haverhill, who joined the 2025 Jimmy Fund Walk to honor loved ones and fuel the fight for a cure to cancer.
The Jimmy Fund Walk, an iconic annual New England tradition, held its 2025 event this past weekend, leading thousands of families and friend groups along the path of the Boston Marathon. It’s all to raise funds for adult and pediatric care and research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, with a goal of $9.5 million this year — fundraising continues through Oct. 31.
